David Besozzi, BH-BL High School Social Studies Department

A Sympodium ID250 Interactive Pen Display that will enhance instruction via technology and further the goal of creating a technology-based classroom of the 21st century.

Grant: $2,249

 

Cindy Blaich and Marcia Szablewski, Pashley Elementary

A Brother PS 3100 Sewing Machine for the Comprehensive Development Skills program (CDS). The program is a functional life skills program that services children with multiple disabilities. Part of the program focuses on pre-vocational activities.

Grant: $350

 

Brian Bold, Charlton Heights Playground Committee

Materials for a Charlton Heights gazebo. The gazebo would be used for an outdoor classroom environment. The 70 staff members and 465+ students would use the gazebo for quiet and aloud reading, lessons in science, math, social studies, health and development, by outside presenters, Lunch Bunch, Student Council.

Grant: $1,879.30

 

Susan Cifaratta, Stevens Elementary

Four “Backpack Boosters”. The packs were filled with fun and educational items relating to a specific country/continent (New Zealand, Japan, Antarctica and Africa). The backpacks are sent home to enrich the third grade Social Studies curriculum.

Grant: $400

 

Marty Pangburn, Pashley Elementary

Three videos to be used during indoor recess. These are character-building videos. The Last Chance Detectives are great stories for the upper grades which will fit conveniently into two recess periods. These extras are not available in the budget.

Mystery Lights of Navajo Mesa (friendship/forgiveness),  Legend of the Desert Bigfoot (discernment/right choices),  Escape from Fire Lake (perseverance/teamwork)

The Foundation supports the youth of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake school community by generating and disbursing funds for services, equipment, enrichment programs, and other projects designed to enhance education.
